October 2026 Update

It’s been a busy month and I haven’t gotten to my computer as much as I would have liked. I had out of state trips to weddings in both Washington and Texas, which was fun, but between planning and recovering from those and several administrative tasks that needed to get done, I didn’t touch writing or editing at all in September. However, I can now say I’ve tried alligator meat!

We got to go to a beach while we were in Texas and had fun beachcombing and wading in the waves. We were fascinated by the little mollusks that would get uncovered by the waves and then bury themselves again as fast as their little tongue things would let them. So many different colors!

Also in fun news, I passed my rank test in Kenjutsu and am now 5th kyu, working towards 4th kyu when testing comes around again. I only started in June, so being able to rank up already is pretty cool. I also got to practice cutting with a sharp sword for the first time, which went a lot better that I anticipated. Swords are cool.
