About the Author

Rebecca has long been a lover of stories and adventure. She started dictating short stories when she was three. Creating various scenarios was a frequent occurrence growing up, whether while playing by herself, with her siblings, or with her stuffed animals.

When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found spending time with family, participating in role-playing games or boffer sword-fighting with friends, reading, taking a run, or enjoying the scenery in her native state of Utah.

About My Work

I write for adults while keeping things appropriate for YA (teens). This means that while I write of war, prejudice, and other heavy topics, you won’t find graphic gore, intimate scenes, or real-world swearing in my books. What you will find are characters going through hard things, making tough choices, and trying to figure out how to get along.

I work in fantasy worlds but incorporate real-world skills where appropriate. Magic doesn’t solve everything. Some people don’t have it, some situations don’t have a place for it, and sometimes it will just cause more problems. Few types of magic are going to help you if you’re lost in the wild and can’t find water or you’ve been arrested on false charges and have to convince someone of your innocence.

Most of all, I write to have fun, bring hope, and spread joy. If readers aren’t having fun with me, I’ve done it wrong. I hope you’ll join me on a journey of exploring new worlds and fighting epic battles.
